EN10028 13CrMo4-5 Low-temperature Pressure Vessel Steel Plate

​EN10028 13CrMo4-5 is a low-temperature pressure vessel steel plate that has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in the manufacture of cryogenic tanks, liquefied gas storage tanks, and other pressure vessels.
The chemical composition of EN10028 13CrMo4-5 steel plate meets the requirements of the standard, with carbon as its main element and a small amount of manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, molybdenum and other alloying elements. The carbon content ranges from 0.10% to 0.17%, the manganese content ranges from 0.40% to 0.90%, and the chromium and molybdenum contents are respectively 0.80% to 1.20% and 0.15% to 0.35%. These alloying elements improve the toughness, strength, and corrosion resistance of the steel plate.
EN10028 13CrMo4-5 steel plate has good mechanical properties. It has a yield strength of ≥270 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of ≥470 MPa, and a fracture toughness of ≥21 KJ/m2 at -60°C. These properties enable it to withstand cryogenic temperatures and high-pressure loads.
The steel plate is usually supplied in the quenched and tempered state, which further improves its mechanical properties. Quenching and tempering are heat treatment processes that strengthen the steel by evenly distributing carbon atoms and enhancing crystal lattice distortion, thus improving its hardness and corrosion resistance.
EN10028 13CrMo4-5 steel plate is widely used in the oil and gas industry, chemical industry, cryogenic engineering, and other fields. It is used to manufacture cryogenic tanks, liquefied gas storage tanks, and other pressure vessels that require low-temperature resistance and high pressure resistance. For example, it can be used to fabricate LNG storage tanks and pipelines.
To ensure the quality of EN10028 13CrMo4-5 steel plate, it is essential to strictly control its chemical composition and mechanical properties during production. The steel must undergo quenching and tempering treatment to achieve the desired mechanical properties.
