UNS N06035 is a nickel-base alloy, specifically designed to offer exceptional resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments. This high-performance material combines the best attributes of nickel with carefully selected alloying elements to create a material that is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, and other aggressive chemicals.
Chemical Composition The primary alloying elements in UNS N06035 include chromium, iron, molybdenum, and niobium. These elements are carefully balanced to provide exceptional corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Chromium and molybdenum are known for their corrosion-resistant properties, while niobium and iron contribute to the material's toughness and tensile strength. Mechanical Properties UNS N06035 offers excellent mechanical properties, making it an excellent choice for demanding applications. It has high tensile strength, good fatigue resistance, and excellent creep resistance at elevated temperatures. These properties make it suitable for use in high-stress and high-temperature environments where other materials might fail. Heat Treatment UNS N06035 is typically supplied in the solution annealed and quenched condition. This heat treatment ensures that the material is in its most ductile and strongest state, making it suitable for a range of forming and welding processes. Additional heat treatment such as aging or stress relieving may be applied as per specific application requirements. Key Applications UNS N06035 is used in a variety of corrosive environments where other materials would quickly corrode or fail. It is commonly used in the chemical processing industry, oil and gas extraction, pulp and paper production, and other industrial applications where exposure to acids, alkalis, and other corrosive substances is common. It is also used in high-temperature applications where its exceptional creep resistance is required. Supply Case For a recent offshore platform project, UNS N06035 was specified for use in the platform's chemical processing equipment. The material was chosen due to its exceptional resistance to the highly corrosive acids and alkalis used in the platform's processing fluids. The project required approximately 100 tons of UNS N06035 round bar, which was supplied in the solution annealed and quenched condition. After the installation, the material performed extremely well, withstanding the severe corrosion conditions without any signs of corrosion or failure. Comments are closed.
